Commercial Tempered Glass Options
Our Tempered Glass Installation Process
1. Site assessment & window evaluation
We perform an initial walkthrough to inspect damaged panels, assess existing framing, and verify where local building codes require safety glazing. We provide straight answers on whether you need a full unit replacement or targeted panel swap.
2. Custom Measuring, Fabrication & Permitting
Because tempered glass cannot be cut or altered after the heat-treatment process, precise measurements are critical. We take exact dimensions, oversee custom fabrication to match your tint and thickness specifications, and pull all required Los Angeles building permits.
3. Precision Removal & Installation
Our licensed crews carefully extract shattered or non-rated glass and install your new safety panels. Every tempered glass door and tempered glass window is set with weather-tight seals and balanced hardware to ensure smooth, long-term operation.
4. Quality Assurance & Inspection Walkthrough
We test hardware alignment, inspect edge clearances, and verify that all installed safety glass carries the required permanent compliance stamps before wrapping up the site.
5. Warranty & Client Support
Every project includes our satisfaction guarantee and ongoing support to address any operational adjustments or hardware needs down the road.

FAQs
Tempered glass undergoes a specialized thermal heating and rapid cooling process. This creates internal tension that makes the glass roughly five times stronger than standard (annealed) glass. Most importantly, if it does break, it crumbles into small, blunt pebbles rather than sharp, dangerous shards.
Because custom safety glass must be fabricated and heat-treated off-site, lead times depend on thickness and specialized tinting. However, we offer emergency board-up services to keep your building secure while your custom safety panels are manufactured.
California building codes mandate safety glazing in “hazardous locations.” This includes any commercial entry door, glass panels within 24 inches of a door frame, low-level glazing installed close to the floor, wet locations like restrooms, and glass surrounding stairwells.
Building codes typically require tempered “safety glass” in “hazardous locations.” This includes glass doors, windows near floor level (usually within 18 inches of the floor), bathroom/shower enclosures, and glass near swimming pools or stairs.
In many cases, yes. If the scratches are superficial and haven’t compromised the structural integrity of the pane, professional polishing and restoration can remove the marks and save you the cost of a full replacement.
Yes. Compared to standard glass, tempered glass naturally blocks a higher percentage of ultraviolet (UV) rays. This helps protect your interior furnishings, carpets, and merchandise from sun damage and fading.
Laminated glass and tempered glass are both considered safety glazing, but they’re built for different jobs. Tempered glass is heat-treated to be much stronger than standard glass, and when it does break, it shatters into small, relatively harmless granules instead of sharp shards. Laminated glass works differently. It’s two or more panes of glass bonded together with a plastic interlayer, usually PVB. When it breaks, that interlayer holds everything in place, so you still have a barrier there even after impact. For security purposes, laminated glass is usually the better choice. It stays intact after breaking and resists forced entry in a way tempered glass, despite being stronger, just isn’t built for.
